This Direct Metal Mastered Heavy Weight 180g Vinyl LP contains 10 songshand-picked from Allan Taylor himself from previous released recordings.

On one of his numerous visits to the studio, Northeim cod suggested AllanTaylor record a vinyl LP of 10 of his favorite songs. He already had a tracklisting which included such beautiful songs like "The Dove","Chimes At Midnight", or "Colour To the Moon". Also,included is "Save The Last Dance For Me" from the 2000 Behind the Mixproject.

Allan Taylor about this project: "I thought the vinyl format was finished.However, since I have been recording with Stockfisch Records and working withGunter Pauler I have become used to the supremely high criteria the work to, sowhen they asked me to choose a few songs of mine from our catalogue for arelease on vinyl I thought it was a great idea". We too think it is agreat idea.

Allan Taylor is quite an accomplished singer-songwriter and musician, and hissongs are imbued with a captivating honesty and emotion that evokes anastonishing range of moods. My previous exposure to his work had only beenthrough the SACD and Blu-ray mediums, and both those releases were uniformlyexcellent (as always with Stockfisch!) I spend much of my time listening tovinyl, so of course I couldn’t help but wonder how great those discs mightsound on LP – and when I heard about this release, I was pretty stoked!Apparently, Allan Taylor had quite the opposite reaction; when he was approachedby Stockfisch’s Gunter Pauler about the prospect of releasing a selection ofhis songs in the vinyl LP format, he had the following comment: “I thought thevinyl format was finished. However, since I have been recording with StockfischRecords and working with Gunter Pauler I have become used to the supremely highcriteria they work to, so when they asked me to choose a few songs of mine fromour catalogue for a release on vinyl I thought it was a great idea.” Greatidea, indeed – as good as the Stockfish SACDs have been, I just wasn’t preparedfor this astonishingly revealing LP, which is one of the most perfect pressingsI’ve received in quite some time.

I don’t have to go on about Allan Taylor’s performances here – you can use thesearch function on the site to read my raves about some of his previous works(part of from which this disc is culled). Gunter Pauler of Stockfisch is aremarkably good recording engineer, and that only becomes even more apparentwith this amazing LP release, which offers up the kind of you-are-there realismthat just about defies belief. The mostly acoustic affair offers a reallyconvincing illusion of real players performing in a realistic space, with AllanTaylor’s distinctive voice anchoring the proceedings. And this is one of theflattest, cleanest, quietest pressings I’ve encountered in quite some time – Idon’t know who’s pressing these discs in Germany (Pallas, perhaps?) but they’redoing a remarkable job. NEWS FLASH: a quick visit to allantaylor.com justoffered up some promising information – apparently, “In The Groove” is thetitle of the vinyl series from Stockfisch that will feature many of theirartists, with Allan’s being the first in the series – great news, indeed!

This Direct Metal Mastered, 180 gram LP is an audiophile dream come true – veryhighly recommended!

不知道什么时候开始买TAS 精选，

好像是为了找影片的配乐，误打误撞地买到好东西。

一开始还让它晾在架子上一段时间，因为TAS 选的音乐都太高档，太突出，不太能当背景音乐。

最近买的2005年TAS 听来听去就属这首Allan Taylor 唱的Brighton Beach最有味道，

超长歌词，在他低沉，磁性的歌声中娓娓道来数十年生涯来自Brighton Beach的点点滴滴回忆。

每一个人都有著专属的回忆和过往，有人用文字，有人用绘画，有人用影像，有人用音乐描述自己的故事，

吉他的伴奏感觉很贴入生命的底层，没有高不可攀的贵气，它的味道就是岁月的喃喃吟唱吧！
